mariarosa poetry
“…lady bug and bug lady and lady love and love bug ladies…”
what a day
the train conductor complimented my hair
and john checked in with care.
gabe brought hash browns, a pair
and erica had popcorn to share.
gifted homemade strawberry stickered
i flickered and snickered
while rafael and i bickered
~ my heart tickered ~
as i rode home fonder,
i began to ponder
the human contact,
knick knacked,
thoughtful packed and love tracked
morning
~ so adorning ~
i end the night
in a warmth of delight
with these moments on replay
all cuddled in bed, i lay and say
oh, how wonderful to know i almost forgot ~
someone stole my bike today
new ride
i saw my shadow for the first time today
since i last saw them, the 24th of may
i giggled and i wiggled
my way through
a wind guided hullabaloo.
for 30 minutes,
my heart bits
flit a knit kit
of butterflies
holding strings and ties
to my feet
as i took a seat
on my new ride
+ oh my goodness ~ she glides
+ shines a purple shine
the kind that makes me proud to call her mine
because when the sun hugged us together
on the first day of warm weather
i saw my shadow again
not like back then
but i saw them
two legs, two wheels
my heart squeals
and expands
i can cruise again (no hands)
as i let go of being sad
with losing what i had
i’ll look down at our outline
+ be reminded of an old friend of mine
old friend
i talked to the moon
+ listened to that sweet tune
with thoughts of u +
her + her + him + u and
u and us
plus
tomorrow will come
and 10 am will go
and i’ll share what u need to know
because before you leave
i must unweave my
worries n hurries of
maybe never seeing u
again, old friend
